Jack and his mother Maria escaped Peru and came to the United States in March of 1990, They spent two months in New York before settling in Miami, Florida. An interest in puppeteering led him to create his puppet, Stanley who quickly became very popular with cult audiences, making cameo appearances in some short films. The success of these shorts inspired Jack to write a full three-part screenplay about Stanley and create his first feature length film, "Natural Born Stanley" which was released on December 19, 1997.

With the success of "Natural Born Stanley" and intent on maintaining creative control over his future films, Jack channeled all of his efforts into creating his own production company.

The premiere was an undisputed success, with lines forming around the theatre. The premiere with young and old moviegoers alike was almost sold out opening night.

The premiere included a display of behind the scenes photos, complimentary gifts for pre-purchase ticket holders, autographed pictures of the cast, movie-based merchandise and a live performance by "Kill Theory", who played live music from the original motion picture soundtrack. "It was more than a premiere, it was a celebration," a fan later said.

With the "Lost in the Wilderness" release came the web-site www.moviegodproductions.com, which was bought on November 28, 1999.
